Oaklands neighborhood is centrally located in Victoria with a mixture of single-family homes, townhomes and condo/apartments. A popular neighborhood with young families because of its parks, schools and proximity to downtown Victoria.  Many of the streets are lined with mature chestnuts, Garry oaks and flowering fruit trees. Oaklands is also home to a number of notable heritage residences dating to the early 1900’s; the Jewish Cemetery, which was established in 1860 and sits atop Fernwood Hill; and Oaklands Elementary, which originally opened in 1913 and is the location for Oaklands’ popular Sunset community market.

Oaklands is also home to Hillside Mall, a major shopping center for the region, medical and dental offices, restaurants and neighborhood convenience stores and a growing neighborhood village, known as Haultain Corners.
